Travellers Word (26)

"What a great place ,the monkeys by the balcony every morning, the pool always clean and i meet very nice people there . My girlfriend and I had a really good time there, Pura Vida."
"Great spot within easy walking distance to town but nestled up into the tree line. Birds galore and visiting monkeys to watch in the trees. The apartment was large and supplied with everything we needed. Dorit in the office was so helpful with all of our requests .She had great knowledge of the areas tours etc...and was super helpful."
"We arrived at the condos on 11/14/2014 and stayed until 11/21/2014. My best friend and I rented one of the 2 bedroom condos and absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a quaint little place with lots of animal life, this is the place. Located in Quepos but very close to everything and a bus ride to the beaches. Tons of monkey's came to visit us during the week and we were able to take videos of them playing in the trees right outside the balcony. The apartment has everything you need and we were very comfortable. They have food and grocery delivery so you can relax after all the traveling and have things brought to you. Dorit in the office was amazing, she helped us book everything we wanted to do and took care of everything for us. We very much appreciated her taking the time to help us even when she was not in the office. Every adventure she recommended was awesome and all of the guides were all very knowledgeable in their skill. She has picked out the best! I read in reviews before about the hill going up to the condos and ya it's a very steep hill but it really never interfered with any of our plans and took cabs to avoid the hill lol .. I can't say enough about the estates, we loved it! Enjoy your stay as I know you will!"
"My wife and i were a little nervous about staying in an apartment that looked so clean and roomy for the price advertised. When we arrived the gal at the desk was very helpful and responsive to our needs. The apartment was clean and cool. We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed the surroundings. Monkeys, birds, and iguana's to see most days. The whole experience well exceeded our expectations. We plan on bringing our family back to stay in one of their larger units. The only thing you need to expect is they don't accept credit cards so you'll need to pay in cash."
"It was a great place to be. Close to Quespo and minutes of bus ride away from Manuel Antonio. Aside from the inescapable lizards that show up at night. We enjoyed the stay."
"Dorit was beyond helpful, not only during our stay at Manuel Antonio Estates, but also beforehand. She gave recommendations for mangrove kayaking and a catamaran tour that we would not have taken otherwise. Both tours were so much fun, and they picked us up right at the apartments. Dorit was extremely nice, and even let us check out late to accomodate one of the tours. The apartment was lovely, and came with all the dishes and flatware a group would need to cook at 'home', instead of heading out. The estate is very close to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio, so getting around was a breeze. The location is beautiful, and the pool is well kept. We even saw an very content (and massive) blue iguana sunbathing poolside one morning. I would absolutely recommend staying there."
"Great condo in a central location. Has everything you need and is walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The park is a short drive or bus ride away ( 5 mins). Staff are friendly and very helpful."
"We stayed in a condo here for almost a week and had a very nice time. The units are spacious and clean and there are only 8 of them so the pool is never crowded. The monkeys will come right up to your balcony and peek in on you, and the place has a guarded gate at the entry 24 hours a day so everything is secure. The location is good as well, right between Quepos and Manuel Antonio so it's close to everything without being right in the middle of a crowded area. We left having had a very nice time and only discovered that we had left a laptop in one of the rooms after receiving an urgent email (we had no phone service) from Dorit, who manages the front office. We had already driven several hours away to our next hotel when we received the message, and were set to fly home a day later. I was afraid I would have to spend my entire day driving back to get the computer, but Dorit quickly and cheerfully arranged it so their driver would deliver the computer to us at our new hotel, 4 hours away (!), that next morning for a very reasonable fee - probably less than I would have spent in fuel if I made the trip to get it myself! They really went above and beyond and saved us a huge hassle and from having to waste our whole last day in the country driving back for the computer. I can't recommend this location highly enough, and the price for the rooms is great as well! Book it now!"
"We stayed in the Eco apartments for 10 nights. My wife and teenage son were with me. Dorit assisted my wife with coordinating zip lining, ATV, kayaking and other activities. We enjoyed our stay. The pool was great after a day of running around. The rooms were in good shape and it was great to have a kitchen. The only 2 things I will warn is if you are planning to stay there and have any mobility issues talk with Dorit and make sure you get a lower level unit. The steps are quite steep. The other thing to note is only one of the bedrooms has an AC unit. It can get a little uncomfortable at night if you are not accustomed to the heat. Overall Good value for the price."
"We were looking for a safe, clean, reasonably priced place to stay in Quepos. I can tell you that we got that and so much more. Starting with the great communication from Dorit at MAE, she responded to all email questions promptly and gave us all the info we needed. The thing we loved the most and will never forget was watching monkeys play in the trees right from the deck of our condo and seeing the Toucans and iguanas while relaxing by the pool. We chose not to.rent a car because, as advertised, we could take the public bus from right outside the entrance to MAE to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. That's what we did most days and it worked out great and saved us a lot of money. Downtown Quepos was an easy walk with plenty of restaurants and local groceries available. We didn't book any tours but Dorit has lots of them available and is happy to set up anything you want. We were very pleased with everything and will certainly stay here again."
"Dorit and her college were very accomodating and helpful. We enjoyed the monkeys from the pool and our balcony most afternoons. Short walk to town of Quepos where there was a great market Friday afternoon with lots of fresh produce and fish. Close enough to the touristy Manual antonio, but not too close. The local bus was easy to use and very reasonable."
"We had a very nice stay at Manuel Antonio Estates, Dorit, who set up our reservations, was extremely helpful and helped us set up tours. The wildlife around the apartment was really amazing, there were monkeys and toucans and iguanas all over the place. The only problem that we had was, the heat! We couldn't get used to the heat and the air conditioning wasn't up to the task. With that exception, I would recommend this facility and would come back in a heartbeat."
"This is a great place to stay with lots of return people, which says a lot about MaE. We have stayed in two of the condos and one of the houses. All were immaculate and gave us great interaction with the monkeys, which are half the fun of staying here in the rain forest. The birds and iguanas will also keep you company. The pool is nice, not so much for lap swimming but for staying cool. I wish the kitchens were better outfitted for those of us that like to cook a lot. Bring your own sharp knife. Dorit and Luis are here to make your life as easy as possible. They will answer any question and help you with any activities. Quepos is home away from home for those of us that have been here so often. Hot, but nice."
"spacious apartment with full kitchen would be ideal for extended stay - we only stayed 2 days so that was irrelevant. location is a 10 minute cab drive from the beach. Place was clean, price low, people around nice. It's up a huge hill so those who aren't traveling to CR for some major exercise, beware! Also the Hotel Coordinator Dorit was extremely friendly and accommodating in setting us up with white water rafting twice. That was highlight of the trip, rafting on Savegre and Churro Rivesr - amazing. I would recommend it to those looking to save a few bucks and still stay somewhere respectable."
"We had a great stay for a month in Apartment #6 of the ECO condo. The landlord is attentive to care for the property and Manuel Antonio Estates management is excellent. The apartment was spacious with fabulous view of trees and pool. The balcony is as far as you need to go to bird watch and be entertained by monkeys,..."
"Have been in Quepos many times before but this time wanted larger quarters. The apt/condo was perfect for our needs. Was as advertised although the staff more helpful than expected! The power goes on/off but that's Quepos. Short walk to town which did almost every day. Am 81 years old and it's a bit of a climb to the top floor but certainly do-able (and healthy!). Loved our almost daily visit by monkeys. Nice pool, friendly neighbors. It is quiet and seemingly isolated yet close to everything."
"This condo was amazing! Everything was provided in the condo especially in the kitchen. The location was great with lots of services nearby like grocery stores and restaurants. It was nice to get away from the snow in Canada and stay in this home away from home. The pool area was clean and never too busy. Costa Rica is beautiful and staying in this condo will make your stay even better. I would recommend this condo to a couple or families of 3 or 4. From travelling the world for 6 months, Costa Rica is one of our favorite locations. What makes this condo the best is the cheap price and how easy the manager was to work with. Some other great addons were the amazing mountain views, the fast, free wifi and easy acces to town. I will definitely be considering staying in this condo again if we visit Costa Rica in the future. Thanks for an amazing stay in your beautiful condo! -Written by Michael and Megan Biglis"
"The eco condo we stayed in was very nice. It is a little difficult to tell from the website what you are getting as they show pictures of several different units, but I think they are all similar. There are 2 different buildings with a total of 8-10 units I think. We had a 2 bedroom unit with a queen bed in each room. There was a nice hot water shower, and hot water in the bathroom and kitchen sinks. The only AC was in one of the bedrooms, but the other room and the living room had ceiling fans. There was a well equiped kitchen so we fixed food for ourselves most of the time to save money. Food, at restaurants and the grocery store, are very expensive here. We thought it would be nice to be within walking distance of Quepos since we were staying for a week, but we didn't go there much. It was too hot in the day to walk - perhaps we are wimps, but we tried to walk one day with our 2 young kids and only made it a few blocks before we stopped to buy cold drinks. The town is worth a walk through once to check out the bakeries, souvenir shops, English language book store, etc, but we ended up spending most of our time at the beach, so if you will be here a short time, I would recommend staying somewhere closer to the beach. However, this place was nice and a good price for the area, plus it had two separate rooms. The pool was nice and in the afternoon when we were swimming, we were often visited by a group of monkeys that climbed all over the condo buildings. We also saw some large iguanas, other lizards and a green snake on the property. The receptionist, Dorit, is extremely helpful and kind. There is wi-fi in the unit and a computer in the hotel office if you need it. There is no laundry service offered for the eco-condo units, so we had to take our laundry to a place in town. Cost us $22 to get it all washed, dried and folded, but it was better than hand washing it all ourselves. We enjoyed our stay here very much."
"From the get go our experience was nothing but positive. Shay checked us in in a warm and efficient manner. She immediately gave us vouchers for the tours we had booked. She then gave us a local map and showed where we could walk to for food, banking, etc. without having to drive. While going to our unit our skidded and went off the road. Out of nowhere, Papillo the gardener ( a lot of beautiful plants to ogle) and Gustavo the Security gate person came to our assistance and bailed us out of a precarious situation. The people associated with Manuel Antonio Estates helped us out in so many ways, and to them I say "Pura Vida". Every day we enjoyed swimming in the pool and hanging out on our balcony watching iguanas and also occasional monkeys swinging from tree to tree. The unit had all the essentials in the kitchen and we were able to cook very easily in addition to our dining out. It was blissful. We'll be back for certain."
"Great location,Great condo,Great value."
"Our apartment was very clean and well equipped!! Shay is absolutely wonderful and a great hostess with helping to arrange day trips and tranportation. Monkeys, lizards, iguanas galore!!! We fed the monkeys and iguanas fresh bananas every day (just peel the banana without touching the fruit--our skin creams, suntan lotions and anything else you have on your hands make the animals very, very sick!!) The grounds and pool are very well maintained everyday. The apartments are close to the village of Quespos where you can walk to the shops , restaurants and bus stop. A fabulous place to stay for a very peaceful serene holiday. A beautiful country with beautiful people!!"
"Everbody that worked at Manuel antonio Estates was very friendly. I left a pretty nice watch down by the pool and someone turned it in. Shay, the lady that checked us in was so helpful. The housekeeper, the guard, the young man tending the pool, all were very kind. The place was clean and had good plumbing. And you couldn't ask for a better location. The only set back would be that the beds were very hard."
"I have done alot of traveling, but I must say that my stay at Manuel antonio was one of my top vacations!! The apartment was great, spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and more han accommodating!!It is a safe place to stay as a single traveler with lots of adventurous thing to do. The town of Quepos is a short walk away for all of your needs and the bus will take you into Manuel antonio in less than 10 min. for the beach and other activities (ie Nation Park) I cannot say enough wonderful thing about this magical place, I am looking forward to returning!! I Loved this place!! Shay was awesome!! If you are in to the nightlife there is plenty to do every night. You can book just about any and all activities that you could possibily want to do through the Estates. I must admit I have not stopped raving about this place to my friends and family since I have returned!!"
