Whether you stay one week, two or more, you will want to relax during your vacation (isn’t what vacations are for after all?). You came to the right place, in Costa Rica you will experience the “Pura Vida” (Pure life) which is a problem free way of living, the “Tico Hakuna Matata”… Here are some of our recommendations to relax fully during your stay and recharge the batteries.
1- Spend at least one day at the beach
Well, this is not a secret, the beaches here are paradisiac and it would be terrible to miss the opportunity to tan there. Within the National Park you can even enjoy one of the most beautiful beach of the World according to TripAdvisor! The public Manuel Antonio beach is also really nice to spend the day, and we usually also recommend the Biesanz beach for families, as it doesn’t have waves. Not far from Quepos & Manuel Antonio you can also find other amazing beaches such as Playa Linda & Playa Matapalo if you are looking for endless & less crowded beaches. So grab your book, sunglasses, swimsuit, towel & let’s go to the beach! Don’t forget your sunscreen, the sun is really strong here and during the hottest hours it could be better to stay in the shadow…
Want to get rid of all your tensions and accumulated stress within your body? A full treatment at the spa is a perfect option. Enjoy the view of a wild jungle garden while you get your massage. You can choose from a large menu of services, from body wrap, scrub, reflexology, regular, couples, hot stone massage to 2 hours massage including all natural ingredients to the treatments (chocolate, sea salt, papaya, honey, orange…). Great solution for a rainy day or even if you don’t have any plans for the day.
3- Find your waterfall or stay near a river
There are so many waterfalls in Costa Rica and even in the area you will find a lot of places to discover. Local families usually go to the river or to waterfall to spend their day off and relax. Rio Portalon is a really great place to relax and connect with nature, it is not that far from Quepos by car and you can stay as long as you want! You can also go to the Gallega which is a nice river where you can stay all day and swim. In Uvita, you can also find amazing waterfalls like the Uvita’s, El Pavon or Nauyaca. So many places to discover and to refresh from a really hot day!
Imagine, you are on board of a beautiful large catamaran, with free cocktails, sunbathing nets, the fresh marin air in your hair, seeing the National Park from the Ocean! You may even see some playful dolphins jumping around, or whales coming in these water to breed their babies. Discover the underwater world during a snorkeling session in the protected waters of the National Park. And finally taste a delicious typical meal while watching the sunset. An unforgettable journey you can live here in Costa Rica!
5- Enjoy your swimming pool
Some vacation rentals have their own private pool in the middle of a private property, surrounded by the jungle! Why not taking your time to relax at your place, reading, trying to spot your neighbors in the trees (I’m talking about the monkeys, sloths, toucan & macaws of course…). You may even get a surprise visit from them on your balcony or near your pool. Some houses have hammocks & really cosy chairs you can lay on, taking a nap or looking at the beautiful vegetation all around you.
Relax your body & soul in the magnificent natural hot springs from the delightful hot waters of rio dos bocas. The hot springs here are naturally heated by a volcanic vein. The entrance fee is 3000 colones ($6) for tourists & residents. You can visit the location during the evening as well. With candle lights a romantic atmosphere is being created. It’s a really nice place to go to relax & discover something new!
You know now 6 ways to relax during your vacations but you will find more! As we said, Costa Rica is an amazing place to stay and you can be sure you will come back to your house with your batteries fully charged again! Pura Vida!
