Beatriz will appreciate knowing that our son John told us on our flight back home to West Virginia that the night jungle tour was “my favorite part of the whole trip!” She was great with him, tweaking the lessons towards him, asking him questions, engaging him. He & a 2 1/2 yr old girl got to handle a small snake, look for bugs and spiders, participate fully in the animal night life. We all loved the herbal iced “tea” at walk’s end. Please send us the recipe, Beatriz!! Gracias por todo!!
We were lucky to visit the park after the rain and we saw a lot of frogs, insects, bat, even a little snake! The guides (Beatrice and Juan) were both very kind and interesting. And the herbal beverage at the end of the walk was super good! Thanks again.
Our kids were not the easiest guests ever, I’m sure. Diego was great. He rolled with the punches, the kids ended up having fun and it was a great experience. Wandering spider, laughing falcon, paraque and a bunch of frogs. Scorpio and even a snake. Cool!
Beatriz was a great tour guide! We loved how she made everything interesting. Her knowladge was wilde, we had many questions which were all answered.
Precommuntion before the tour was also professional. Highly reccomended for those who have a little interest in biology!
Beatriz, our guide could make spiders, lizzards and all animals interesting to me despite I thought that I’m not interested in them. The tour is really educative and definately worth it. Beatriz can amswer all of our questions and she is really passionate about this and can transfer this feeling.
Night jungle with all its magical sounds was mesmerizing!
Ficus tree, 30 years old Bromellia, Oophaga poisonous dart frog, bull frog – poisonous, grows up to 0.5 Kg, Amblypygi is a cross between a scorpion and a spider, called a tailless scorpion, male and female golden orb spider nephila, brazilian banana spider – its bite sends you to the hospital, gladiator frog, Red eye leave frog, and Jesus Christ lizard – runs on the water 1.5 meters per second. We were looking for snakes and caiman crocodiles but did not see any this time. Beatriz is amazing tour guide. She is educated and knowledgeable; very excited about nature and beauty of rainforest. Beatriz takes stunning photos and videos using your camera, just ask her. Also ask Beatriz about her future educational projects. Very nice and exciting person. She deserves every minute of your time. Tipping is welcomed too. Definitely must go tour.
Cesar was our guide and he could not have been better. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and can identify every sound and every insect we saw. I would definitely recommend wearing the wellies (rubber boots for Americans!) that they provide to protect your feet and ankles. Sadly we didn’t see any snakes but the amazing spiders, possums and tree frogs more than made up for it. A highly enjoyable experience, I definitely recommend it.
We’re so happy we signed up for this tour. Our guides were Cesar and Beatrice. They were both very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about their profession. We got to see lots of frogs, toads, millipedes, caiman, spiders, lizards, whip scorpions, bats, opossums, and lots of other animals in their native home. We learned a lot about the local flora and fauna, and really got to appreciate the natural beauty of Costa Rica. We would never be brave enough to go into the jungle at night on our own, but we felt very safe and comfortable with our guides. We’re so glad we got to see a glimpse of the nocturnal world, and we now have some very cool photos to share with our family and friends. Beatrice has a great eye for photography, and will gladly help you take the perfect photo. Thank you for an awesome adventure 🙂
We did this tour on a dry day, so there were notably less creatures and activity than we would have gotten on a rainy night. But we didn’t mind, we loved the experience and our guide was very knowledgable about the forrest. More than 50% of the wildlife in the rainforest comes out at night, so you will see the forrest like you would never otherwise. Highly recommend!
Everyone was very COVID friendly and wore masks the entire time.
Our tour happened to fall on a very rainy evening, which isn’t even a bad thing considering how many night time creatures come out on rainy nights. Our tour guide, Beatrice, was so pleasant and very knowledgeable. She helped us get pictures of all the frogs and insects we saw. The location of the tour takes you on a very promising up and coming forest, all focused on reservation and conservation, as well as building new gardens. Very encouraging to see of such a biodiverse country. We hadn’t initially looked into night tours, but were recommended one by a fellow tourist, and we are so happy we did it.
Twelve family members on the tour and we had a great time. The rain forest is wonderful at night. Very knowledgeable tour guide (Christian) and he worked hard to find many insects, spiders, and animals. A highlight was the red-eyed tree frog. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend this tour, the forest is magical at night and we saw so many species up close. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the trails are quite flat and easy to walk in sturdy shoes. We came away with a greater understanding of the forest ecosystem here. It’s very humid, take a water bottle!
Our guide was Felipe and he was extremely knowledgable about the flora, fauna, and general ecosystem. We were super happy we chose to do this tour although I was a little sad not to see a sloth. Bug repellent and lots of water are a must! Make sure you also inquire about the churro budget! 🙂
We had a great experience as a family! Our guide Christian was passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky and saw snakes, frogs, and scorpions. It was very safe and fascinating to see these creatures and the importance of protecting the environment. Highly recommend!
This night tour was amazing. The guide (Luis) was excellent!
