Costa Rica with more than 96,000 new seats

So far this year, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) reports the generation of more than 96 thousand
additional seats available.
In a matter of two years, the country went from a direct flight to Spain provided by Iberia, to eight direct flights
from Europe; British Airways and Thompson Airways of the United Kingdom, Condor of Germany, Air France of
France, Edelweiss of Switzerland, KLM of the Netherlands (Netherlands) and Lufthansa of Germany.
In the year, the arrival of the airline Evelop was announced with a letter from Lisbon, Portugal, which generated
3268 seats in that new market. On the other hand, of the mentioned airlines, KLM added an additional flight on
Sundays, from January 28 to March 4, 2018, which represents an increase of 1764 seats.
The Edelweiss company decided to increase operations this year, adding a third frequency from Switzerland,
which will start on September 30 and with the expected addition of approximately 3768 seats. In addition, since
this year, Air France flies annually to the country, incorporating two permanent weekly flights between San José
and Paris (Wednesday and Sunday) adding 27,972 seats in 2018.
In addition to these announcements, the airline Alaska Airlines decided to fly every day in June, July and August
of 2018 from Los Angeles, California to Liberia, Guanacaste. The operation begins on June 1 and ends on August
25. This would add approximately 3977 seats to Liberia.
In addition, less than a month after taking the inaugural veil, the LATAM airline will incorporate a fourth flight from
San José to Lima and connections, starting in March of this year, which will add four weekly flights, with
significant reservations from Argentina, Chile and Peru and 7224 seats will be generated in 2018.

Latam Airlines Inaugurated its first flight to Costa Rica

The airline Latam Airlines inaugurated its first flight to Costa Rica, with which it became the first Central American
destination in which the airline ventures. The airline offers three weekly flights on the Lima-San Jose route, for
which they will use an A320 aircraft with capacity for 168 passengers.
The flight to San José is easily connected with flights from Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mendoza Argentina; Sao
Paulo, Brazil, Asunción, Paraguay and Santiago, Chile. While the flight from San José to Lima is connected to
several destinations in the southern cone within two hours after arriving in Lima; Santiago, Chile (2 flights
available); Antofagasta, Chile Córdoba, Argentina; Montevideo, Uruguay, Asunción, Paraguay and Mendoza,
Argentina.

Evelop will fly to Costa Rica from Portugal

The company Avoris del Barceló Business Group, confirmed that, starting next April, will fly to Costa Rica from
Lisbon with a 330-300 aircraft, with capacity for 388 passengers and with a frequency of one flight per week. The
flight will be operated by an Evelop airline, which belongs to the Barceló group. With the arrival of Evelop, the
airlines of the European continent to Costa Rica add nine. Starting in April, a route will start operating from San
José, in Costa Rica, from Lisbon and another from Maldives to Madrid.
Air France – KLM will offer seven weekly flights between Costa Rica and

Europe.

As of October 28, 2018, the Air France-KLM group will operate a daily flight between Costa Rica and Europe
during the European winter 2018-2019. Since November 2, 2016, when Air France opened its Paris-San Jose
route with two weekly flights, it is the third time that the company offers it. Initially it increased to three flights per
week its offer for the current winter 2017-2018; then announced two permanent flights during the European
summer of this year (from March to October) and now Air France will increase its weekly flights to four during the
winter season 2018-2019. Air France will operate its route to San Jose on Boeing 777 aircraft, combining versions
777-300 and 200. On Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays the route will be operated with a Boeing 777-300 while
on Wednesdays with a Boeing 777-200

Volares Costa Rica opens new routes

The airline of ultra-low cost announced the opening of its new routes that will connect, from March, with Central
America with three of the most important cities of the American Union; Los Angeles, New York and Washington
D.C.
The first two routes, San José – San Salvador – Los Angeles, and San José – Guatemala – Los Angeles, will begin
operations on March 15 and 17, respectively. The remaining two will connect San José, via San Salvador, with
the cities of New York (JFK9 and Washington D.C (IAD), from April 17 and May 16, respectively.
