  • 2.5 - 3 Hours
  • Min. Pax 2

With the establishment of Manuel Antonio National Park in 1972, the people of Costa Rica decided to preserve for future generations one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. Although it is the country’s smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is unmatched. Besides, you will have more opportunity to spot wildlife in a shorter time! Manuel Antonio National Park contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches, and coral reefs. These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest. The forest is home to 2 and 3 fingered sloths, toucans, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, millions of colorful little crabs and much more. The trail that winds around Punta Catedral affords some spectacular views. The park is easy to reach, south of the town of Quepos in Puntarenas province, and is near a good selection of hotels and restaurants. In this particular tour, you’ll hike through the rainforest along 1,500 meters of easy-access trails in an estimated time of 2.5 to 3 hours, with an experienced & bilingual naturalist interpreter, certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Your guide, equipped with a high-powered spotting scope, will help you locate the vast variety of flora and fauna in their natural habitat, you can also use their telescope to take pictures of the animals up close. You will have the chance to spot Howler, white-faced, and Titi monkeys, plus Agutis, and, if you are lucky, the beautiful Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates auratus), all while learning about the diet, habits, and many more facts about the variety of species you’ll encounter during this incredible nature adventure. This tour includes all transportation, your admission ticket and a fresh break in the middle with fruits and drinks too, what more could you ask for?

This park is well-maintained, and they obviously care about the health and safety of the environment and animals who live there. We took a guided tour, and our guide Beatriz was amazing; knowledgeable, funny, and really helpful. We saw all three types of monkeys in the park, as well as sloths, iguanas, birds, ants, bats, and frogs. Highly recommended!

My friend and I did this tour and were so lucky to have Beatrice as our tour guide. She was so incredibly knowledgeable, patient and had a great sense of humour, we were very lucky in being able to see numerous sloths (even a baby), monkeys, toucans, iguanas, so many other animals. You really need to do this national park with a guide as you really would miss a lot of the animals without one. Thank you Beatrice, you are amazing!!
