Overview

With the establishment of Manuel Antonio National Park in 1972, the people of Costa Rica decided to preserve for future generations one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. Although it is the country’s smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is unmatched. Besides, you will have more opportunity to spot wildlife in a shorter time! Manuel Antonio National Park contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches, and coral reefs. These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest. The forest is home to 2 and 3 fingered sloths, toucans, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, millions of colorful little crabs and much more. The trail that winds around Punta Catedral affords some spectacular views. The park is easy to reach, south of the town of Quepos in Puntarenas province, and is near a good selection of hotels and restaurants. In this particular tour, you’ll hike through the rainforest along 1,500 meters of easy-access trails in an estimated time of 2.5 to 3 hours, with an experienced & bilingual naturalist interpreter, certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Your guide, equipped with a high-powered spotting scope, will help you locate the vast variety of flora and fauna in their natural habitat, you can also use their telescope to take pictures of the animals up close. You will have the chance to spot Howler, white-faced, and Titi monkeys, plus Agutis, and, if you are lucky, the beautiful Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates auratus), all while learning about the diet, habits, and many more facts about the variety of species you’ll encounter during this incredible nature adventure. This tour includes all transportation, your admission ticket and a fresh break in the middle with fruits and drinks too, what more could you ask for?

We had a fabulous tour of Manuel Antonio Park with our guide Beatrice. Beatrice was knowledgeable, funny, and very receptive to questions. She did a great job of engaging all of us, and especially the kids on the tour. My 10-year old daughter, who was hot and irritable, was interested and engaged throughout the 2 hour tour. Hats off to Beatrice for a great job!!!

Beatriz was a fantastic tour guide! She is incredibly knowledgeable and funny, which made our tour so enjoyable. We saw sloths, a toucan, so many huge lizards and iguanas, monkeys, and several types of insects and birds. We maybe would have seen one of those animals without Beatriz’s help. It was well worth the money!

Caesar was a great guide and found many things for us to see that we would never have seen on our own! He shared much information about the park and the animals. I highly recommend this tour!

Beatrice was an amazing guide. We learned a lot and was able to get a sloth checked off our animal list. I am an amateur wildlife photographer so my goal was to see how many good shots I could get and see a lot of animals. You would most likely miss a lot of these animals if you just bought an entry ticket and went solo. If your goal is to learn and see Wildlife I’d definitely recommend doing it.

Cesar did a great job taking our family on a private tour. We highly recommend. It was a great way to keep the kids engaged and learning all three hours.
