With the establishment of Manuel Antonio National Park in 1972, the people of Costa Rica decided to preserve for future generations one of the most beautiful and bio-diverse areas in the world. Although it is the country’s smallest national park, the stunning beauty and diversity of wildlife in its 683 hectares is unmatched. Besides, you will have more opportunity to spot wildlife in a shorter time !

Manuel Antonio National Park contains a charming combination of rain forest, beaches, and coral reefs. These beaches are the most beautiful in the country, lined with lush forest. The forest is home to 2 and 3 fingered sloths, toucans, iguanas, the rare and adorable squirrel monkeys, millions of colorful little crabs and much more. The trail that winds around Punta Catedral affords some spectacular views. The park is easy to reach, south of the town of Quepos in Puntarenas province, and is near a good selection of hotels and restaurants.

In this particular tour, you’ll hike through the rainforest along 1,500 meters of easy-access trails in an estimated time of 2.5 to 3 hours, with an experienced & bilingual naturalist interpreter, certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Your guide, equipped with a high-powered spotting scope, will help you locate the vast variety of flora and fauna in their natural habitat, you can also use their telescope to take pictures of the animals up close. You will have the chance to spot Howler, white-faced, and Titi monkeys, plus Agutis, and, if you are lucky, the beautiful Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates auratus), all while learning about the diet, habits, and many more facts about the variety of species you’ll encounter during this incredible nature adventure.

This tour includes all transportation, your admission ticket and a fresh break in the middle with fruits and drinks too, what more could you ask for ?

    "Great wildlife"
I came to Costa Rica to discover animals I couldn't see in their natural habitat in my country and this tour was amazing for that. With our guide Roy, we were able to see many sloths, toucans, white face monkeys, howler monkeys and more! The explanations we had were really useful and our time in the park was really pleasant. I would recommend this tour for sure!

    "Definitely take a guide!"
We booked the guided tour through this website and Roy was our guide, he was just amazing, extremely knowledgeable and he spotted every single animal on our daughter's list of things she wanted to see. You do see so much more with a guide, and these people use the best guides in town, so don't hesitate to pay the extra money for a guide!

  • "Sloth Spotting with Joshua"
If you're traveling to Manuel Antonio specifically to see sloths, be sure to book your tour with Joshua. He sure can spot them! He can also spot the smaller reptiles and birds and provide you interesting information about all the creatures in the park. Highly recommend!

    "Great tour"
Great tour. The tour was great! Our tour guide (Josue) was very knowledgeable about all of the wildlife in the park and about the region in general. At no point during the tour did I feel that he was making stuff up about any animal or plant. Furthermore he brought a long a couple of books and leaflets detailing the wildlife in the region. If your interest is to visit the beaches and spot some monkeys, my recommendation would be to not take the tour and just pay the 16 USD entrance fee, however, if you'd enjoy spotting some wildlife and have no prior experience I most definitely recommend booking a guided tour. 10/10 would book again.
